Overview

Like a modern times´ Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, Sam and Jonathan, two travelling salesman peddling novelty items, take us on a kaleidoscopic wandering through human destinies. A trip that shows us the beauty of single moments, the pettiness of others, the humour and tragedy that is in us, life´s grandeur as well as frailty of humanity.

Review

Salesmen Sam and Jonathan travel around the world to sell exotic things. Their journey is to capture a beauty of the moment, while also going through other people’s dirtiness and tragic and comic attributes of human beings. At the same time, it is also the journey that the outstanding artist Roy Andersson dramatically and visually reveals ephemerality and contextual changes. What he deals with constant interest is human weakness and ironic destiny of life in it, as those in his films go back and forth in dreams, fantasies and reality. [LEE Sang-yong]
