In the 1970s and 80s, actress Delphine Seyrig and activist Carole Roussopoulos made use of new video technologies to fight for the women’s movement. Archive material documents their interventions into the events of the time.
Delphine and Carole is a portrait about the collaboration between video artist Carole Roussopoulos and actress Delphine Seyrig. Seyrig, who is known for her roles in Last Year at Marienbad (1961) and Muriel (1963), first met Roussopoulos as a mentor in her video production class in the early 1970s. Using video which was a new media and a method of political activism of the time, their collaboration represents the relationship between political directors and their subjects. [JANG Byungwon]
